Before: Y. Tarte, Chairperson
(Decided without an oral hearing)
[1] This reference to adjudication was filed with the Board on August 27, 2003, by the Public Service Alliance of Canada, the bargaining agent, on behalf of the grievor, Ms. Irene Britton. This grievance concerns a discharge.
[2] The Public Service Alliance of Canada wrote to the Board on May 28, 2004, to inform the Board that it would no longer be providing representation in the above-cited matter.
[3] The Board wrote to Ms. Britton on June 1, 2004, at her last known address on record, informing her that the bargaining agent was no longer representing her in this matter and requesting that she inform the Board by June 15, 2004, whether she wished to proceed with the reference to adjudication. No response to the June 1, 2004 letter was received, nor was the letter returned to the Board as unclaimed.
[4] The Board again wrote to Ms. Britton on June 21, 2004, requesting her to inform the Board by July 9, 2004, whether she wished to proceed with her grievance. No response to the June 21, 2004 letter was received, nor was the letter returned to the Board as unclaimed.
[5] The Board wrote to the grievor on July 21, 2004, advising her that failure to inform the Board by August 5, 2004, whether she wished to proceed with her grievance might result in the Board closing this file without further notice. No response to the July 21, 2004 letter was received, nor was the letter returned to the Board as unclaimed.
[6] Under the circumstances, I am satisfied that the grievor does not wish to pursue her grievance. Accordingly, I direct that the proceedings are terminated and the file closed.
