Summary:

Amalgamation of bargaining units - Description of bargaining unit - Confirmation of certification - Subsection 103(2) of the Public Service Reform Act (PSRA) - Applied Science and Engineering Group - pursuant to section 101 of the PSRA, the Treasury Board specified and defined the occupational group known as the Applied Science and Engineering Group - immediately prior to this, the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada was the bargaining agent certified for the Actuarial Science Group bargaining unit, the Agriculture Group bargaining unit, the Architecture and Town Planning Group bargaining unit, the Biological Sciences Group bargaining unit, the Chemistry Group bargaining unit, the Engineering and Land Survey Group bargaining unit, the Forestry Group bargaining unit, the Meteorology Group bargaining unit, the Physical Sciences Group bargaining unit, the Scientific Regulation Group (except for employees in the Patent sub-group) bargaining unit, and the Patent sub-group of the Scientific Regulation Group bargaining unit, which are now covered by the new Applied Science and Engineering Group - pursuant to subsection 103(2) of the PSRA, the Board amalgamated these bargaining units into a new one, described as the Applied Science and Engineering Group bargaining unit - the bargaining agent's certifications had not been revoked under the Public Service Staff Relations Act and have been continued by virtue of subsection 103(1) of the PSRA - the Board confirmed the certification of the bargaining agent for the new bargaining unit. Bargaining units amalgamated. New bargaining unit described. Certification confirmed.
